Two charged for ‘unlawful wounding’ of 19-year-old

Two of the alleged members from a ‘gang’ that is said to be operating notoriously in Linden were arrested by the Police on Wednesday and charged yesterday for ‘unlawful wounding’ committed on a teenager.
Travis Hazel, called ‘Fifty’, a 36-year-old businessman of Lot 24 Silvercity Wismar, Linden, and Royston Hilliman, a 48-year-old businessman of Lot 1831 Main Street Central Amelia’s Ward, Mackenzie Linden, were arrested by Police on 2023/02/01 and were both charged yesterday (2023/02/02) about 10:00 hrs with the offence of Unlawful Wounding, Contrary to Section (50) of the Criminal Law Offenses Act Chapter 8:01, committed on Dwayne Mitchell, a 19-year-old Miner of Wisroc which occurred on 2022/12/26 at Block 22, Wismar Linden.
Both accused appeared at the Linden Magistrate’s Court before Her Worship Ms Wonda Fortune, where the charge was read to them. They were not required to plea and were both remanded to prison. The matter was postponed to 2023/03/09. (Guyana Police Force)
