The International Decade for People of African Descent Assembly – Guyana (IDPADA-G) has invited all member organisations to attend a meeting to hear the report of its delegation to the historic first session of the Permanent Forum for People of African Descent held last month.

Following up on the report, members will discuss the way forward for the organisation, including a review of the Draft 2023 workplan and discussion of member organisations’ planned activities for the year.

Discussion will also focus on effective preparation for participation in the Second Session of the Permanent Forum, scheduled to be held in New York in May 2023. IDPADA-G is an umbrella organisation bringing together sixty-five Afri-centric groups based in communities across the country.

Statutorily, IDPADA-G member organisations meet annually in General Assembly and as needed throughout the year throughout the year. Members are also represented in the regularly scheduled meetings of the sectoral and thematic committees the help guide the work of the organisation.

Members last met in November 2022 to provide input to the body’s intervention at the first session of the Permanent Forum. IDPADA-G operates under a Charter drafted and agreed to by all members. Its Charter is incorporated into and honored in its legal status – that of a not-for-profit company.
