Government continues to announce plans they will never be able to implement

Dear editor,

Everyday the government of Guyana makes some major announcement of some new program.  The truth is, this government will never be able to execute these programs because they simply do not have the expertise or the infrastructure in place to successfully complete them.

The goal of these announcements, which the media seem elated to distribute without query, is simply to make announcements for public consumption or to take up space against perceived enemies.  They also wish to exercise maximum control over any project which has any perceived influence with citizens.

This is poor leadership 101 or I suppose I could say stupidity.  These projects will fail, there is no question about that.  This government is leading by fear, but not in the way we all think.  They want to exert control and invoke fear in citizens but only because they are insecure and fearful themselves.  They know that they’re out of their depth and they’re simply bluffing our citizens.

Editor, please refer to this letter in one year, or two years, or three years, It will prove to be prophetic. The people of Guyana need visionary leadership, not this parade of clowns we see before us each day.
