Over 250 Melanie families to secure land titles through regularisation exercise

Prior to the swearing in of Members of the Board of Directors to the Natural Resources Fund (NRF) on Tuesday, it was announced United Kingdom Member of Parliament, David Lammy, is out.

Lammy was appointed on April 20, 2022, along with Major General (ret’d) Joseph Singh, MSS; Ms. Carolyn Rodrigues; Messrs Dunstan Barrow and Ramesh Dookoo to serve as members.  However, according to President Irfaan Ali, Lammy has declined to serve.

In Lammy’s stead is Professor Compton Bourne O.E. Bourne served as Chancellor of the University of Guyana and was President of the Caribbean Development Bank. Bourne, who is Guyanese by birth, was named amongst those who received land in the controversial Pradoville II Scheme.
