The Caribbean Court of Justice (CCJ) will today deliver its Judgement into the murder convictions of Bibi Shareema Gopaul and Jarvis ‘Barry’ Small. The CCJ is being asked to determine if the Court of Appeal’s variation of the sentences of the two of imprisonment to 45 years is manifestly excessive.

In 2015 the couple was found guilty by a jury for the murder of 16-year-old Neesa Gopual in 2010. Justice Navindra Singh sentenced Gopaul (Neesa’s mother) to 106 years and Small to 96 years.
