Murder suspect ends life

A 28-year-old Parika, East Bank Essequibo man, who was the prime suspect in the murder of Trevor Allen, succumbed at the Skeldon Public Hospital after ingesting a poisonous substance.

Dead is Davin Persaud called ‘Chrissy.’

The Guyana Police Force, in a statement, said Persaud succumbed at the Skeldon Public Hospital on Tuesday, November 3, 2021 at around 01:15hrs.

According to the police, the 28-year-old allegedly murdered Allen at Parika on October 10, 2021.

Days later, he allegedly consumed a poisonous substance while in the company of a male relative at No. 74 Village Corentyne, Berbice.

He was rushed to the Skeldon Public Hospital where he was admitted in a critical condition under police guard and later succumbed.

The body was taken to the said hospital mortuary awaiting P.M.E.
