Female nurse arrested after gun, ammo found in yard

A 29-year-old female nurse of Sophia, Greater Georgetown was on Monday afternoon found with a Beretta handgun  with one magazine and two live 9MM rounds.

Police said acting on information received a party of policemen went to the home of the suspect in search of Romerio Hudson called Mario age 34 years unemployed who is wanted in connection with an alleged murder.

Contact was made with her and she claimed to be the  girlfriend of Mario.

Thereafter a search was conducted in her home but nothing of evidential value was found. However, a search in the yard unearthed a black haversack under a tree. When opened, it revealed an intratic Beretta handgun with one magazine and two live 9MM rounds.

She was asked if she is the holder of a firearm licence and she said no. She was then told of the offence  committed and cautioned where she remained silent.

Hence she was arrested and escorted to Turkeyen Police Station where the firearm and ammunition were marked sealed and lodged in her presence Investigation in progress.
