Randolph Mc Adams, 43 years of no fixed place of abode was on Thursday assaulted by a group of men while protesting the non-payment of his salary by his employer.
Police said a suspect identified as Oscar and other members of the gang are at large.
According to a police report the victim was in the vicinity of the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court picketing the alleged non-payment by his employer who is a gold miner.
Whilst in the process, the victim was approached by a group of men and was abused and subsequently beaten.
Police said the man was rescued by public-spirited citizens and later made a report to the Brickdam Police Station.
He was escorted to the police medical centre where he was examined by the police surgeon who issued a medical certificate in favour of the victim.
