Man killed during birthday party row

A 23-year-old man was killed some time between last Saturday night and early Sunday morning during a fight at a birthday party on Sandy Babb Street, Kitty Georgetown.

Dead is Kwal Dindon. The suspect, a 21-year-old man is in police custody.

Police said in a release that it is alleged that Dindon and two of his friends attended a birthday party Saturday night held at a place in Sandy Babb Street Kitty.

At the party an argument ensued between Dindon and the suspect during which he pushed him down.
The suspect ran away west along Sandy Babb Street, while  Dindon armed himself with a piece of wood and along with his friends pursued the suspect.

They caught up with him and dealt him several lashes about his body.

They suspect then retaliated by pulling out a knife from his pants waist and dealt Dindon a stab to his right side upper back. Dindon then ran into a nearby yard where he fell to the ground in an unconscious state.

The GPHC ambulance was summoned and at the hospital he underwent emergency surgery and was admitted to the ICU where he died on 2021-06-20 about 14:00 hrs while receiving treatment.

The suspect, the deceased’s two friends and another male were arrested pending investigations.
