UNICEF -using art to teach children about COVID-19

The numbers of infected cases and deaths, because of the pandemic, are increasing. Earlier in this week this newspaper reported a one-year and three-year-old testing positive for the virus. No one is immune or safe from the novel coronavirus (COVID-19). That UNICEF (United Nations Children’s Emergency Fund) is playing a role in helping children give expression to their understanding of the pandemic, in order that they could themselves and reach their peers, is an important step for this demographic fighting the pandemic and helping their parents and other adults do likewise.

Public education about the coronavirus has taken many forms such as storytelling, music, poetry and art. Watch the children of the Guianas (Guyana and Suriname) tell stories about the virus through paintings and drawings.
