Vaccination should be Prioritised based on clinical indications

Dear Editor,

My eyes were drawn to the headline “MPs to be vaccinated from latest Covid-19 vaccine consignment.”

While I recognise the Ministry of Health right to determine their vaccine protocol, I am of the opinion that vaccination should be prioritorised based on clinical indications. For unfortunate it would be, if a high-risk mother of five was to die from deprivation of the Covid vaccine because preference was afforded Kwame McCoy, based on his status as a MP

Having said that, my reason for addressing you today is to bring to the fore a falsehood being propagated by Dr. Frank Anthony. Apparently, Dr Anthony was undertaking a comparative analysis of Sinopharm and AstraZeneca and made the following conclusion based on available data. “They’re both within the same range of effectiveness and they do a good job in protecting people from getting the infection and preventing people from getting the more severe form of the disease so, I think looking at the data, they’re equally effective.”

Mr. Editor, AstraZeneca has made their data public, so much so that Europe, Britain, Canada and many other countries in the G7 have approved it as safe and effective. Further, AstraZeneca is under review by the Americans for approval. Furthermore, AstraZeneca has WHO approval hence being a part of their Covax distribution. All this was made possible since AstraZeneca made their data public, for the medical community to scrutinise.

Sinopharm on the other hand hid their data since it is likely not good. None of the G7 countries is interested in it since they clearly place a higher value on life. Sinopharm distribution is mostly to third world countries donations and the UAE. The WHO raised serious concerns for the lack of data from Sinopharm. The G7 countries share the same concerns. As a result, the WHO declined approval to Sinopharm.

As a result, for Dr. Frank Anthony to say that he has seen the data is beyond shocking. If he has, then make it public since the world has been waiting an eternity to see them. The fact is, he can’t since they don’t exist. So why would Frank Anthony lie to the public? The answer is simple. The populace is much smarter and is demanding data for Sinopharm and Covaxin. Such data don’t exist but PPP is in a conundrum since they splurge excessively on the dead Sugar Industry. Now with no money to buy vaccines, they have resorted to begging. And we know beggars cannot be choosers. So in their beggar bowl was placed Sinopharm and Covaxin. Neither have data so to trick the public into having those useless vaccines, PPP manufactured data. Those are the facts. Prove me wrong PPP.
