The body of a man was on Wednesday found floating in the canal that separates Croal Street and South Road, Georgetown.
Acting on information received, a party of policemen about 13:00 hrs, went to the scene where the body was seen floating in the canal. The body was retrieved and examined for marks of violence but none was seen. The corpse was then escorted to Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation and is currently in the mortuary awaiting a post mortem. Investigation is ongoing.
