Man shoots at cousin during dispute over money

Police are investigating the alleged discharging of a loaded firearm with intent committed on 28 year-old Anthony Harrinandan, a businessman of Courbane Park, Annandale, East Coast Demerara  by a fisherman on Tuesday.

The incident occurred at around 12:28 hours at Annandale West, ECD.  Enquiries disclosed that both Harrinandan and the suspect are cousins who had an argument via telephone over money owed by the suspect who had refused to pay. The suspect reportedly threatened to kill Harrinandan over the phone.

On Tuesday Harrinandan was seated in his motor vehicle at a bar in Annandale West when the suspect, who was armed with a handgun, approached him, pointed same and discharged several rounds in his direction. The suspect then made good his escape in a white motor car of unknown registration, heading west along the Annandale Public Road, ECD. The Police was summoned and responded accordingly. Two 9mm spent shells were recovered but the suspect was not located.
