WCB man robbed at gunpoint

…relieved of $160,000 in cash and items

The police are investigating an alleged robbery at gunpoint conducted by two men on the West Coast Berbice (WCB), reliving the victim of cash and items worth GYD $160,000.

According to police report, on Tuesday at about 19:20 hours, at Lot 6 Cornelia Ida, WCB, 32-year-old businessman, Junior December of Gap Road La Jalousie, WCB, was robbed by two unidentifiable males.

He was relieved of GYD $60,000; one gold ring valued GYD $20,000; one Redmi note 8 pro valued GYD$65,000 and a quantity of Digicel and GTT phone cards valued GYD$15,000 at a total value of GYD $160,000.

Enquiries disclosed that about 18:55hrs the victim was in his store making notes when he observed two unidentifiable males enter his minimart, one of whom whipped out a handgun and told him to remain quiet.

The other male relieved him of the items mentioned above after which the two suspects made good their escape.  It was alleged by the victim that one of the suspects fired a shot while escaping. Investigations are in progress.
