Porter hospitalized after pinned by lorry

A 40-year-old porter has been admitted to the Georgetown Public Hospital (GPH) after suffering multiple injuries about his body.

The porter, Odit Narine Persaud of Essequibo, was pinned by a lorry on Saturday along the Toraturu, Trail, Mazaruni.

According to reports, at about 1.30 pm on Saturday, the 30-year-old driver of the lorry who is from Bartica was descending a hill when he allegedly lost control of the vehicle which turned turtle and pinned Persaud  in the process.

Persaud is suffering from a fractured right leg, and abrasions about his body.

His condition is listed as stable.
