Special Constable robbed by duo at Goed Hope

A Special Constable stationed at the Special constabulary Headquarters and who resides at Victoria, East Coast Demerara (ECD) was on Monday relieved of her shoulder bag which contained two national identification cards, a bank card, $800 cash, a police shirt and head dress.

The aggravated robbery occurred at about 20:26h at Goed Hope, Railway Embankment, East Coast Demerara.

Reports are that the victim, Sharon Marks, was heading to work and was walking along the Goed Hope Embankment when she was confronted by the two suspects who grabbed her and demanded she handed over the bag. One of the suspects pulled the bag from her after which the two men escaped on foot.

The matter was reported to to the police and checks made for the suspects but were unsuccessful.

Investigations are ongoing.
