‘Heavy drinker’ found dead

Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of Gopaul Bissoon called “Dona”, age 49 years, of Barclay Street, Goed Fortuin, West Bank Demerara.
The death of the man was reported on Saturday about 13:20 hrs by an unknown caller, police said in a press release.

According to the police acting on information received from the unknown caller a party of police ranks went to the above mentioned location and upon their arrival they noticed the body of Gopaul Bissoon,  lying motionless on his back.

The body was checked for any marks of violence but none was seen.
Information received that Gopaul Bissoon, lived with his brother and was known to drink  excessively and also suffered from epilepsy. He was last seen alive on Saturday about 13:00 hours by his brother walking at the side of his yard.

The body of Gopaul Bissoon was escorted to the West Demerara Regional Hospital, where he was pronounced dead by the  doctor on duty. His body was then escorted to the Ezekiel funeral home, awaiting a post morten examination.

Investigations are ongoing .
