Lusignan prison escapee recaptured

Ishaka John, the 25-year-old prisoner of the Lusignan Holding Bay who escaped from the East Coast Demerara (ECD) penitentiary early Wednesday has been recaptured.

According to a statement issued by acting Director of Prisons, Nicklon Elliot said that Johnm of Lot 109 ‘A’ Field Sophia, was recaptured by Police along the Mon Repos (ECD) Line Top at around 20:00h. He was committed for murder.

“The Prison Administration would like to express thanks to the ranks of the Guyana Police Force for their commitment and dedication that led to the speedy recapture of the prisoner,” Elliot said.
