COVID-19 death toll climbs to 159 as Region Three woman dies

A 56-year-old woman from Region Three (Essequibo Islands – West Demerara) is the country’s latest COVID-19 death. The woman’s death takes the country’s death toll to 159.

According to the Ministry of Health, the woman died while receiving medical attention.
On Thursday, 26 new COVID-19 cases were recorded with eight persons being treated in the COVID-19 Intensive Care Unit (ICU).

The total number of cases recorded in Guyana since March stands at 6, 042.

Some 34, 986 persons have been tested so far for the deadly disease.
