Police have arrested a 46-year-old Security Guard alleged to have been involved in the murder of a 57-year-old woman of South Cummingslodge, East Coast Demerara (ECD) on Thursday.

On December 11, the woman’s brother, 57-year-old Rohit Singh, reported his sister’s death to police at the Turkeyen Police Station.
The dead woman, whose name was not provided, was found lying naked on her bed. An examination of the woman by Police discovered no marks of violence.
However, on Wednesday, a post mortem examination listed her cause of death as asphyxiation due to manual strangulation compounded by blunt trauma to the head.
