Elderly missionaries die in Linden Highway crash

The lives of two elderly missionaries were snuffed out on Tuesday night after their vehicle crashed into a truck along the Soesdyke Linden Highway in the vicinity of Hauraruni village.

Reports are that the couple, Cornelius Rozema, a naturalised Guyanese who hails from the Netherlands, and his wife Bernice , were heading back to their home at Hauraruni around 20:00hrs when the accident occured.

Cornelius was driving at the time and persons suspected that the man may have fallen asleep on the wheels. They reportedly died on the spot.

Police are investigating the accident.
