The matter was reported to the Tuschen Outpost shortly thereafter. Police in the Division were alerted and at the Vreed-en-Hoop Junction, a mini bus owned and driven by a 37-year-old male of Anna Catherina was intercepted by the Police.

The man was found in the minibus with a 24-year-old woman of Melanie, East Coast Demerara (ECD), who was holding the baby. The duo was arrested by the police and taken to the Vreed-en-Hoop Police Station and questioned.

The Melanie resident said that she does not know the suspect, but was asked to hold the baby just before the Police stopped the bus. Her story was confirmed by the suspect and statements were taken from her, after which she was released.
