No audit report will tarnish Lowenfield’s results findings

With the imminent elections petition scheduled to be heard for 24 November 2020 the embattled  PPP/Civic government and its nominated Commissioners at GECOM are trying its best to tarnish the image of CEO Lowenfield. The latest slaughter in the Guyana Times newspaper a politically aligned outfit entertained a bias interview from the PPP. Nominated Commissioner Sase Gunraj. Commissioner Gunraj lambasted CEO Lowenfield for his failure to present financial reports for the 2015, 2020 Elections.

The attorney at Law also mention that the Commission was never given a chance to discussed the 2015 Auditor General special report on the purchase of radios, batteries and pliers.

For the records a committee comprising of Mr. Gunraj’s colleagues, Bibi Shadick and Robeson Benn Commissioners Vincent Alexander and Desmond Trotman dealt with every aspect of the 2015 Auditor General special report. What the Deodat Sharma report failed to inform the nation and  the Commission was that the then  PPP Government at the time awarded the $100, 000, 000 contract to Michael Brasse a supplier who is still a big party financial contributor to PPP regime.

Commissioner Gunraj lets rewind to 2001, 2006, 2011 Elections and discuss financial reports because if we are going to fix the things  let’s start with Mr. Gocool Boodoo tenure as CEO, I wonder where was Deodat Sharma and Commissioner Sase Gunraj  after the  2006 burning at GECOM Annex. The then Fire Chief’s report said that it was arson. If GECOM got to be fixed don’t only fix 2015 and 2020 let us fix everything.

Another audit that need to be done at GECOM under Gocool Boodoo was why PPP former executive member Mr. Ashton Chase was the Attorney hired in all GECOM elections petition cases. Was this not a case of conflict of interest?

I hope Commissioner Gunraj don’t end up like Jack Palance in the 1954 Hit Silver Chalice pulling more tricks out of the hat.
