…plans to expand operations to remote communities

Newly appointed General Manager of the Guyana Oil Company (GUYOIL) Trevor Bassoo has said that under his leadership he intends to expand the Company’s operations across the country.

In a statement, GUYOIL said that Bassoo was appointed General Manager on October 18 after being interviewed and selected by the Board of Directors.
“He reassured that improvement of: Product Quality; Health, Safety and Environment; Customer Service and Branding are priority for the company in the near future,” the statement said adding that the Board of Directors, Management and staff are committed to cooperating with Bassoo.

Since his employment he is said to have been reviewing the Company’s operations while interacting with staff to get a thorough understanding of its status. The newly appointed General Manager said that given the challenges faced by COVID-19, the Company’s immediate mandate is to bring relief to citizenry by reducing and stabilizing the price for fuel.

GUYOIL said Bassoo, who is the holder of a BSc. in Computer Science from the University of Guyana, a CAT accounting qualification from the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants, a PhgC. in Business Administration from the University of Leicester, and an MBA from the Australian Institute of Business, brings twenty years of combined public and private sector managerial experience to the entity.
