A 26-year-old Springlands, Corriverton, East Berbice- Corentyne (Region Six) farmer was on Monday slapped with two counts of robbery and simple larceny charges respectively when he appeared before Magistrate Alex Moore at the Springlands Magistrates’ Court.
Symeon Lynch of Lot 39 Hazel Street, Springlands, Corriverton charged for the robbery committed on three security guards stationed at the National Insurance Scheme (NIS) compound, Corriverton on October 28, 2020.
It is alleged that the accused relieved the trio of their cell phones, cash and a .38 revolver along with five matching rounds.
Lynch who was not required to enter a plea for the robbery charges was placed on $70,000 bail for each count while he pleaded not guilty to the charges of simple larceny and was granted bail in the sum of $30,000 for each.
