21-year-old charged with larceny following East Canje home invasion

A 21-year-old man was on Tuesday charged with larceny when he appeared at the New Amsterdam Magistrates’ Court.
David Karran, of Lot 25 Adelphi Village, East Canje was arrested on October 23, 2020 and charged with Larceny in a Dwelling House in accordance with Section 187 of the Criminal Law Offences Act.

The man appeared before Magistrate Renita Singh where he was not required to plea to the charge and was granted bail in the sum of $50,000.
It is alleged that Karran and three other men, one of whom was armed with a handgun, stole from cash, jewelry, and gadgets valued $207,000.00 from the home of Rudolph Kentolall.

An initial police report stated that Kentolall, a labourer and his wife, Bibi were not at their Lot 964 Cane field, East Canje home, at the time of the incident.
The matter has been postponed to November 6, 2020.
