– says PPP has eroded it
The People’s National Congress (PNC) has rejected the People’s Progressive Party’s (PPPs) attempt to blame the unrest in West Berbice on their party Leaders and has made it clear that its only intention is to see justice being served and a socially cohesive Guyana.
Just yesterday, Minister of Home Affairs, Robeson Benn was highly criticized for the stance he took in addressing the country’s security issues stemming from the brutal murders of two Afro-Guyanese teen cousins, Joel and Isaiah Henry.
Benn allotted a large portion of his press statement to accusing former President David Granger and Leader of the Opposition Joseph Harmon, who visited the family of the teens, of being “criminal opportunists” responsible for “escalation in violence, injuries, and death.”
The latter remark, regarding death, referred to the killing of 17-year-old Haresh Singh, the grandson of one of the men being held by the police for questioning concerning the murder of 16-year-old Isaiah and 19-year-old Joel. Singh was found beaten to death along the Number 2 backdam.
