Yog to head GNNL Board; Cummings to head NCN’s Board

Former Chief Executive Officer of the Guyana Telephone & Telegraph Company (GTT) Yog Mahadeo has been appointed Chairman of the Board of Directors at the Guyana National Newspapers Limited (GNNL).
Mahadeo, who holds a Doctorate Degree in Finance, resigned from GTT in 2012 over an alleged lapse in internal control that occurred under his watch.

The members on the GNNL Board are PPP Parliamentarian Harry Gill, Former Guyana Chronicle Reporter, Vanessa Narine, Former Media Personality, Indira Badal, Former Public Relations Officer of the Guyana Water Incorporated, Raul Aaron along with Jason Abdulla and Nicole Williams.

Recently appointed General Manager (ag) Moshanie Ramotar will serve as Ex-officio member while a staff representative is yet to be identified to sit on the board.

The appointments which took effect from September 3rd will last for one year.
Meanwhile, Raymon Cummings has been appointed Chairman of the Board of the National Communications Network (NCN) with effect from September 3rd.
Raymond worked with the former Government Information Agency (GINA) under the Peoples Progressive Party Civic (PPP/C) Administration.

The board members are NCN’s Former CEO (ag) and former GNNL General Manager, Michael Gordon, Veteran Broadcaster, Phylis Jackson, Politician Peter Ramsaroop along with Shaleeza Shaw, Tracy Shamshadeen, Vanelda Harris and Shaz Ali.  NCN’s Chief Executive Officer (ag) Michella Abraham-Ali was serve as Ex-officio member.
According to the official Gazzette, no spot was identified for a staff representative.
