Linden “Sweetie man” Murdered

The Guyana Police Force (GPF) is investigating the murder of 54-year-old Linden resident, Dwane Williams who was killed by an unknown person(s).

Williams, also called “Levi” or “Sweetie man” was a self employed/vendor who resided alone at Wismar Housing Scheme, Linden.

According to the victim’s 33-year-old nephew of One Mile Wismar, Linden, at about 21:00 hours on Thursday, the deceased visited his mother, age 88-year-old who resides with the nephew.

Williams spent some time then left informing them (nephew and mother) that he was leaving to go home and cook. The man’s nephew further informed the police that about 05:45hrs on Friday he received information from persons in the area that the man was seen lying behind a shack.

The police were subsequently summoned to the scene and the body was examined and a gaping wound was seen to the throat and another to his right wrist. The area was searched and a knife was found.

The body was escorted to the Linden Hospital Complex and later taken to the G. Jetsco Funeral home awaiting a post mortem examination.Investigation ongoing.
