The Guyana Oil and Gas Energy Chamber and the Suriname Chamber of Commerce and Industry have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for joint venture collaboration in trade and economics between the two countries.

The deal was inked on November 19, 2020 in Suriname and came following commitments made between President Irfaan Ali and President of Suriname, Chandrikapersad Santhoki in August 2020.

It was signed by the Suriname Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s President, Jayant Padarath and General Secretary, Joanne Pancham; and the President of the Guyana Oil and Gas Energy Chamber, Manniram Prashad.

The collaboration will explore medium-term and short-term joint ventures between both Chambers and will ultimately benefit the two governments and their entrepreneurs.

The agreement will also allow for training and capacity building; technical cooperation and the exchange of technological systems; international cooperation through business links, seminars and forums, physical visits and joint global activities.
