In a surprising development that follows the Guyana government’s decision not to meet with the team of US politicians on a fact-finding mission to Guyana and also the government’s subsequent refusal to provide security for the delegation, the Guyana government is again under fire for allegedly conducting a propaganda campaign against the delegation. An anonymous insider has revealed that a flier, previously thought to be from the opposition, was actually produced by operatives from the People’s Progressive Party (PPP) government. This flier wrongly accuses the US delegation of bias and political activism, diverting attention from their primary objective of investigating allegations of racial discrimination by the PPP.

The flier’s claims revolve around the delegation’s alleged support for Roysdale Forde Interestingly, just last week, the government’s focus was erroneously on Rickford Burke’s involvement.  “The government of Guyana is flailing around for reasons to discredit the visit in order to undermine the damning allegations of rampant racial discrimination”, reported a citizen who wished to remain anonymous.

Ironically, now, the spotlight has shifted to the Guyanese government, as the allegations of PPP’s involvement have sparked significant concerns about the government’s willingness to discredit international fact-finding missions and manipulate public opinion. The source expressed concerns about the safety of the US delegation, drawing parallels with the historical attacks on US Senator Leo Ryan in Jonestown, Guyana.

Critics suggest that these tactics are indicative of the PPP regime’s ruthlessness and could damage Guyana’s international reputation while undermining democratic principles. They are calling for a comprehensive and unbiased investigation to verify these contentious claims and to ensure that international diplomatic relations remain unaffected by potentially baseless accusations. Additionally, there is growing criticism over the US Embassy’s silence regarding these alleged attacks on American politicians.
