Xi Jinping says win-win cooperation, exchanges with Greece continue

Chinese President Xi Jinping on Friday met with visiting Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis in Beijing, where Xi stressed further opening up and cooperation with the Greek side in advancing the two countries’ comprehensive strategic partnership.

A win-win cooperation and exchanges between civilizations are the two bridges for China-Greece relationship, Xi noted, while also voicing hope for deep cooperation in areas including transportation, shipping, energy, communications, green and digital economy, among others.

Xi also thanked the Greek side for its support of the China-proposed Belt and Road Initiative, saying he hopes to see more fine Greek products entering China. He also said the Chinese side encourage domestic companies to invest in the European country.

For his part, Mitsotakis hailed the economic cooperation between the two countries, stressing that Greece will continue to work alongside China in pushing for high-quality Belt and Road cooperation.

The Greek leader said he welcomes more Chinese tourists to travel to his country, calling on more people-to-people exchanges between the two ancient civilizations.

He also said Greece would like to be the bridge for Europe-China cooperation, hoping to play an active role in the healthy development of a Europe-China relationship.
