The Guyana National Youth Council (GNYC) is proud to announce the upcoming 2023 Youth ALLIES Civic Engagement Summit, set to take place on September 30 at the University of Guyana’s George Walcott Lecture Theatre (GWLT) building beginning at 9am. This momentous event, organized by GNYC with support from the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and the International Foundation for Electoral System (IFES) in collaboration with its esteemed Youth ALLIES partners, promises to be a pivotal occasion for youth empowerment and engagement.

Themed under GNYC’s inspiring motto, “Reshaping democracy through Innovation“, this summit is dedicated to empowering young minds to craft innovative ideas for societal development. It will also provide an essential platform for dialogue between the youth and key stakeholders in the development process.

The summit will feature a diverse range of topics and speakers who are passionate about catalyzing positive change in Guyana, with special features of youth who have undertaken community projects. Organizations engaged in youth empowerment will have booths to share about their work. Representatives from both Guyanese and international organizations will also present on topics like climate change and youth, mental health, and leveraging youth leadership for the future.

The summit has already garnered significant interest, with over two hundred (200) young people registered to attend. We extend a warm invitation to the media to cover this event and share the knowledge and insights that will be disseminated, ultimately contributing to the betterment of our nation.

We eagerly anticipate the participation of your media house on September 30 for the plenary session. Please register at 8:30am for the 9am to 11am session at the University of Guyana’s GWLT building.
