Young couple found with illegal arms, ammo

A young East La Penitence couple was taken into police custody on Monday after being found with an illegal fireman and matching ammunition.

In a brief statement on Tuesday, the Guyana Police Force said that at around 14:25hrs on Tuesday, police ranks, acting on information received, arrested a 24-year-old male and his 25-year-old reputed wife, after a search of their East La Penitence premises unearthed an unlicensed .32 Taurus Pistol with three matching rounds hidden in an oven.
They are being processed for court.
