A miner and a caregiver were on Monday attacked and robbed by two masked males armed with a handgun at the Ogle seawall, near the Shell Gas Station.
According to reports, 35-year-old Cleveland Mentore, of Cummings Lodge, East Coast Demerara (ECD) and Shelly Thomas, 29, of Second Street, Industry, ECD were on the Ogle seawall at the time of the incident. Mentore had parked his silver grey motorcar #PLL 2315, with the engine on, when he and Thomas were confronted by the armed bandits.

Mentore, ran away after seeing the handgun carried by one of the men. After reaching a safe distance, he pelted a glass bottle in the direction of the suspects causing the two shots to be fired. He ran for cover.

Meanwhile, Thomas was searched by one of the bandits after which both men entered Mentore’s car and made good their escape in an eastern direction.
The vehicle contained a 32″ Samsung television valued $140,000; a stablizer valued $12,000; a speaker box valued $12,000; and two cellular phones – a Samsung A2 Core valued $30,000 and a Samsung Galaxy 8 note valued $200,000.
Neither Mentore nor Thomas were injured.
