The Guyana Association of Women Lawyers (GAWL) strongly condemns the incident, which
occurred at the home of the Honourable Madam Chief Justice (ag) Roxane George on the 21st
October, 2020.

The GAWL implores all citizenry to respect and uphold the rule of law. We denounce any
attempt to intimidate Judges or diminish their complete neutrality and integrity or to affect the
outcome of cases.

We also urge the police to conduct a swift and thorough investigation into this atrocity and to
ensure that all our Judges are adequately protected to avoid any future occurrence.
