In Cap-Haitien, two little girls and a little boy saved from the womb of their mother who died during childbirth.

Three babies whose biological mother did not survive an eclampsia attack on September 30 were saved thanks to the diligence of the medical staff of the Justinien University Hospital in Cap-Haitien, in particular the young doctor John Cador Joseph, obstetrician-gynecologist.

A feat for Dr. John Cador Joseph, a third year resident at the hospital center, and his colleagues who performed a complicated cesarean section to save three babies, two girls and a boy, from their mother’s womb.

“In this kind of situation, you don’t have time to call an experienced doctor because you only have a few minutes to act,” he said in an interview with Signal FM .

– A race against time –

“If you waste the time to call another person, when they arrive, they will only note the death of the fetuses,” he added, stressing that in his case, he had very limited time to act, what he does. A quick and efficient decision that saved three lives.

Indeed, fetuses live from their mother. Once the surrogate is no longer breathing, the fetal-maternal circulation stops and the babies enter a state of hypoxia. At this time they must be extracted as quickly as possible.

Between the death of the mother and the authorization of the parents for the extraction of the fetuses, four minutes had passed, and the doctor had between 8 and 15 minutes to save the lives of the triplets.

“In normal times, we take an average of 4 to 5 minutes to do an extraction. If there is an extreme emergency, we do it in less than two, says the young hero. In the case of triplets, we did it in less than a minute”.

– Applauded for this achievement –

Thanks to a quick response from the medical staff and the collaboration of the parents of the deceased, the three babies were saved and are, for the moment, in good health. A feat hailed by the Haitian community on social networks.

“Magnificent,” expressed political commentator Chantal M. Elie on Twitter.

“When we think of the difficult conditions in which our doctors operate, it is to celebrate! “, She added winding the merits of doctors.

“Well done Doctor and thank you for everything you do! Encourage excellence! », She concluded. (Loop Haiti)
