On Saturday, 10th December 2022, Ramps Logistics hosted its annual Kids’ Christmas Treat in Guyana and Trinidad. The KCT is a cross-country motorcade where the Ramps team visited 290 children at ten orphanages to spread Christmas cheer.
The journey in Guyana started at Ramps Logistics’ main office in New Market Street, where Santa and a team of volunteers boarded buses to begin the festive motorcade. The Volunteers visited four homes: Bless the Children Home, Sophia Care Center, St Ann’s Orphanage, and Joshua House Children Centre. At these homes, over 140 children received presents from Santa Claus and danced to the festive music by Santa’s DJ truck.Â
“Kids’ Christmas Treat is very special to us because it’s families supporting families,” said Rebekah Raman, Ramps Guyana’s CSR Coordinator Rebekah Raman. “It brings our people together to give back to our communities, enhance the lives of others and spread a bit of Christmas cheer to the children at these homes. After an eventful year, our team is excited to continue collaborating with local Guyanese businesses and volunteering our time to make events like these possible,” Rebekah added.
Ramps Logistics’ Kids’ Christmas Treat was held simultaneously in Trinidad. The Trinidad team visited six homes: St Mary’s Children’s Home, Sri Jaya Lakshmi Children’s Home, Wesleyan Children’s Home, Ezekiel’s Home for Abandoned Children, Couva Children’s Home and Crisis Nursery and El Shaddai Restoration Home for Children. The children in these homes also received gifts and spent time with Santa and his helpers.
“The Kids’ Christmas Treat is something we are committed to doing every year with our Ramps team and our corporate sponsors,” CSR Team Lead Renuka Ragoo noted. “Each year, we are reminded of the importance of giving back and being involved in our communities. This venture is part of our culture to ensure we do something for the children at these homes who have become part of our extended Ramps family,” said Renuka.
We are grateful to be allowed this opportunity to continue giving back to our communities. We hope to continue our volunteer and CSR efforts across territories in the new year and inspire others to uplift and enrich their communities.
