Police conduct free computer training commences at Zara Computer Centre in Kwakwani

Residents of Kwakwani, in Region No. 10, are now able to benefit from free computer training at the Zara Computer Centre. According to the police, the training programme commenced on October 26, 2022, with 60 persons enrolling.

Residents will also now be able to sit the Learner Driver’s Theoretical Examination, as from  yesterday, which has gone online at the Centre located above the Kwakwani Police Station.

Further, the Zara Computer Centre has rolled out their latest initiative of assisting secondary school students with their School Based Assessment (SBA)

According to Coordinator of the Zara Computer Centres, Assistant Superintendent Gladwin Hanover, the assistance being offered is in the form of guidance and group/one on one tutoring on how to complete their assignments, which will be done by staff of the various Zara Centres countrywide who were trained by the Ministry of Education.

Hanover also noted that the assistance will be available to all secondary school students country-wide who need help to complete their SBA’s, free of cost.

The police said persons interested in free computer training and students who need assistance with SBA’s and live where there is a Zara Centre can reach out for further advice on how to sign up or telephone 642-8698 for more information.

There are Zara Centres in:-

Adventure, Berbice (Reg. #6),

New Amsterdam, Berbice (Reg. #6),

Cove and John, East Coast Demerara (Region #4), Officers’ Training, Georgetown (Reg. #4),

Leonora, West Coast Demerara (Reg. #3),

Suddie, Essequibo (Reg. #2),

Bartica (Reg. #7)

Wismar, Linden (Reg. #10) and

Kwakwani (Reg. #10).
