Queen’s College Daniel Roopchand secured Grade One passes in ten (10) units and a Grade 2 in one unit to become the country’s top performer at the Caribbean Advanced Proficiency Examinations (CAPE), Minister of Education, Priya Manickchand announced on Friday.

Samuel Haynes of Queen’s College and Atishta Seenarine of Saraswati Vidya Niketan secured Grade Ones passes in nine (9) Units. Additional, Abdul Subhan of St Stanislaus College secured 9 Grade One passes, 5 Grade Twos, 3 Grade Threes.

Additionally, Jorrel DeSantos of Queen’s College secured eight Grade Ones while Alex Abraham of St. Rose’s secured seven Grade Ones and three Grade Twos. Yu Qing Xhou and Alicialall Hiralall, who are both from Queen’s College, copped eight Grade Ones each at CAPE.

The students named above secured passes in both Units One and Two, the Education Minister explained.

However, she noted that a number of other students performed exceptionally well are writing Unit 1 CAPE subjects alone.

Atishta Seenarine, a student attached to Saraswati Vidya Niketan, secured 9 Grade Ones. Seenarine is followed by Queen’s College Bhedesh Persaud, who secured 8 Grade Ones and 1 Grade Two; and Shivnarine Chaitram, a student of Saraswati Vidya Niketan, who copped 7 Grade Ones, 1 Grade Two and 1 Grade 3. Queen’s College Tatayana Pearson with 6 Grade Ones and 1 Grade Two.

Minister of Education, Priya Manickchand made the announcement on Friday as she made public Guyana’s 2021 results for both CSEC and CAPE.
