Injured is Albert Nigel Benjamin, a pork knocker of the said backdam, who is popular known as ‘Pluto’.

The incident reportedly occurred about 03.30 hrs on Saturday, while the victim and suspect were at a shop drinking. The two got into an argument, and as a result, the suspect left the shop and went towards his home a short distance away and returned shortly after with a firearm in his hand and discharged two rounds in the direction of the shop.

He then approached the victim and discharged another round, which struck the victim to his left foot, causing him to fall to the ground where he received further injuries to his face and abdomen.

Benjamin was taken to the Bartica Hospital where he is presently a patient in a stable condition.

No arrest was made, but search is ongoing for the suspect.
