The owner, Melissa McKinnon called Melly, is a security guard from the Kalibur Security Service, attached to the Amelia’s Ward Nursery school.

A police release disclosed that the victim is the mother of seven children, five of which were living with her in the one storey wooden house.

The victim reportedly left two of her teenage children at home, a male and a female, and went to work.

At about 10:00 hrs the son left his sister at home and he went at a friend’s home and about 14:00 hrs the sister reportedly secured the house and left for her mother’s work place.

McKinnon then received information that her house was completely burnt. The fire was extinguished by a party of firemen from the Linden Fire Service. Enquiries are continuing.
