…medical official refute claims that she died after taking COVID vaccine
The decomposed body of a woman was discovered at her home at Four Miles, Arakaka in the North West District on Thursday.
Dead is Shelly Roberts who was said to be in her 50s.
Reports are that residents discovered the woman’s remains after observing a stench emanating from her home. She lived alone. The police were called in and a doctor travelled into the mining community from neighbouring Matthews Ridge later on Thursday.
According to a resident , the police were informed by the woman’s son who lives at Port Kaituma, that they should bury her remains, giving the advanced state of decomposition. She was buried the same day.
However, a dispute soon arose regarding the woman’s health prior to her death. Neighbours related that she received the COVID-19 vaccine on Friday.
They explained that vaccination was ongoing at the village on Friday and during the exercise, the medical team decided to carry out house to house visits. The residents said Roberts’ received the vaccine when the team visited her home. They also noted that Roberts consumed alcohol regularly and this may have contributed to her demise.
The residents claims were disputed by the doctor who indicated that there was no record of the woman being vaccinated. According to a resident, the doctor urged residents to increase their medical precautionary measures to stem the spread of the COVID-19.
