The 64-year-old man of Lot 54 Bagotsville, West Bank Demerara (WBD), Clarence Wrights

The Customs Anti-Narcotics Unit (CANU) has interdicted a pensioner pulling a suitcase along the roadside of Hadfield and Water Streets, Georgetown, with a large quantity of suspected compressed marijuana.

The 64-year-old man of Lot 54 Bagotsville, West Bank Demerara (WBD), Clarence Wrights, was intercepted Wednesday late afternoon. He was arrested with one suitcase containing 9 parcels of compressed suspected cannabis weighing 4.508 kilograms.

In his pants pocket, two small ziploc parcels of suspected Cannabis were unearthed weighing 12grams. A quantity of cash was also found in his possession.

CANU Officers intercepted the Suspect after he was entering the city from the West Bank of Demerara by way of the Stabroek Market Stelling in Georgetown. He was seen pulling a suitcase which when searched the suspected narcotics were uncovered.
