Cooperatives interested in buying Scotiabank

We the members of the Natural Agricultural Cooperative Society Ltd have noted the drama surrounding the impending sale of the local Scotia Bank assets to a foreign entity.  Some time ago we understood that Republic Bank had bid for the said bank assets, but that the then government had voiced its displeasure at the move.

Our cooperative is willing to join with the local cooperative movement and our overseas cooperative fraternity to jointly purchase this bank’s assets and operate a viable entity catering to the needs of our people in small and medium businesses. The nation urgently needs a bank that will foster the development of the SME’s in this nation.
