Dear Editor,

On my return today, I read the amazing letter published in Kaieteur News August 28, 2026 edition, by one Hargesh B. Singh, titled “Green’s Poppycock”, this writer, Mr Singh, qualifies for the fiction column. The gentleman misses the central issue raised in Mr Green’s letter, which is; that there is a Commission of Inquiry to look at the Barima tragedy, so how could you “jump the gun” and charge persons for 72 counts of murder related to the same incident, before the report of the COI is available. That is the issue, nothing else.

Mr Singh’s imagination wanders when he claims that Hoyte dismissed Green, he must avail himself of the relevant facts before he writes again.

Yours truly,
Nigel Bacchus
