On this Labour Day 2026, the People’s Progressive Party extends heartfelt appreciation to the hardworking  men and women of Guyana whose dedication, sacrifice, and resilience continue to drive our nation’s  progress and prosperity.

Today, we honour workers across every sector — teachers, nurses, farmers, miners, public servants,  members of the disciplined services, construction workers, entrepreneurs, and private sector employees  — whose daily efforts are building a stronger and more prosperous Guyana.

Labour Day stands as a reminder of the historic struggles fought to secure workers’ rights, fair wages, safe working conditions, and dignity in the workplace. The PPP remains firmly committed to protecting those gains while advancing policies that create more opportunities, improve incomes, and enhance the quality of life for all Guyanese.

Over the years, our government has worked tirelessly to expand employment opportunities, increase wages and pensions, invest in education and training, improve workplace conditions, and strengthen social services for working families. As Guyana continues on its path of unprecedented development, we remain focused on ensuring that the benefits of growth reach every worker and every community.

This Labour Day, we reaffirm our commitment to social justice, economic empowerment, and inclusive national development. Together, through unity, hard work, and shared purpose, we will continue building a Guyana where every citizen can thrive.

Happy Labour Day to all Guyanese workers.
