International dancehall artiste Popcaan has released a new single titled Born Fi Conquer, featuring reggae veteran Junior Reid, in a collaboration that blends generations of Jamaican music.

The track, produced by rising talent Joel Engineer, delivers a message of resilience, purpose and self-belief. Built around the refrain “Born fi win, born fi conquer,” the single promotes perseverance and encourages listeners to embrace their potential regardless of their circumstances.

Born Fi Conquer reflects Popcaan’s continued effort to merge contemporary dancehall with foundational reggae influences. His collaboration with Junior Reid, best known for the classic One Blood, underscores a consistent approach in his career—working alongside veteran artistes who helped shape the genre.

Junior Reid’s contribution adds a layer of authenticity to the song, with lyrics that highlight the struggles and determination of everyday people while reinforcing a message of progress. His verse emphasises perseverance, reminding listeners that “the only way is up.”

Speaking on the collaboration, Popcaan said, “Working with Junior Reid is a great honour for me. I have deep respect for the elders who paved the way and built this industry. Being able to create great music with them is a full circle moment.”

The production, handled by Joel Engineer—Popcaan’s nephew—also signals the emergence of a new generation within the industry, combining modern sound with culturally grounded storytelling.

Born Fi Conquer is now available on all major streaming platforms.
