DPI – Budget 2021 will be presented to the National Assembly on Friday, Senior Minister in the Office of the President with responsibility for Finance, Dr. Ashni Singh has announced.

Dr. Singh made this announcement at his office on Monday evening. The Minister said the budget would continue the initiatives outlined in the 2020 Emergency Budget and advance other initiatives outlined in the manifesto.
“We expect that Budget 2021 will continue to deliver on the wide range of promises, commitments and undertakings that we included in our manifesto as we consider our manifesto to be our contract with the people of Guyana,” he told the Department of Public Information.

The Minister said the Government has been in consultations and engagements with stakeholders in both the public and private sector as well as political parties on the budget.

“We received a lot of very good suggestions from those who were gathered. Many on issues that would impact on Budget 2021, others on policy issues for consideration even beyond,” the Finance Minister said.
The Minister and his team will be finalising the Budget over the next few days.
