Cricket West Indies Mourns Passing of Grenada Cricket President Norman Gilbert

After the conclusion of the Table Tennis and Swimming section of the Games where Guyana’s 2 time Olympian Chelsea Edghill reached the Women’s singles quarter finals, Nigel Bryan and Shemar Britton reaches the Men’s Doubles quarter finals and probably the real chance where Guyana had a chance to secure its first medal in this edition of the Games, the Guyana mixed doubles pair of Shemar Britton and Chelsea Edghill came within one point on two occasions of not only qualifying for the quarters finals but in fact making it with a little bit of luck right through to the finals.
Delroy Tyrrell in his first international competition for Guyana reached the semis in the men’s 50m backstroke.
The athletics section of the Games starts tomorrow with Team Guyana fielding a delegation of eleven athletes.
In the morning session at the Athletics stadium in the Men’s 100m Emanuel Archibald goes in Heat 3 at 10.47 and Akeem Stewart in Heat 4 at 10.53. The evening session starts with Natricia Hooper contesting in the Women’s triple jump finals at 18.05 at the Boulevard a specially constructed venue for the jumps while at the main stadium the Men’s 100m Semis is scheduled for 21.08 and the finals for 22.50.
On the morning of November 18, Keliza Smith will compete in Round 1 of the Women’s 100m at 10.15, Aliyah Abrams in the Women’s 400m Round 1 at 11.25 and Noelex Holder and Robert Marcus compete in the Men’s 200m Round 1 at 12.00. The evening session has the Women’s 100m semis at 20.58, the Men’s 200m semis at 21.15. Simeon Adams and Revon Williams are scheduled to race in the Men’s 400m Round 1 at 21.33 and the Women’s 100m finals will be held at 22.55.
On the morning of November 19, Keliza Smith and Kenisha Phillips will compete in the Women’s 200m at 10.45. The evening session is packed with the men’s 200m final scheduled for 20.30, Leslain Baird will start in the Men’s Javelin final at 21.05, the Women’s 400m finals is at 21.30, the Men’s 400m final is at 21.42 and the men’s 4 X 100m Final is at 22.50.
Track & Field concludes on November 20 and in the morning session the Women’s 200m semis is slated for 10.30. In the evening session Emanuel Archibald goes in the Long Jump at the Boulevard at 18.05, the Women’s 200m Final is scheduled for 20.35 and the event concludes with the mixed 4 X400 relay Finals at 21.50.
